Get Paid to Browse the Web with Nielsen’s Ratings

Here is an alternative to taking paid surveys.  This one is getting paid to browse the web, something we already do every day.

Nielsen’s Ratings is not a paid surveys website.  It is a unique little thing of its own and I have never seen anything like it.  But I love it because it pays me automatically for doing what I do anyway.

Do you know all those opinions polls and survey data that come out on TV, radio and newspapers? Do you know where that data comes from? It comes from Nielsen Ratings. These guys have been around since the earth was formed it seems like and for decades have provided market research and survey data to all of us in various forms.

Where do they get the data? From people like you and I who get paid to browse the web and allow them to monitor our computer usage. They then formulate those results in aggregate from users all around the world.

I don’t think there is an easier way to make money than using Nielsen’s system and get paid to browse the Internet. I have been collecting checks from them forever as I can remember, and the amounts only get bigger when I refer others to them.  These guys have an excellent payment plan.

My earnings increased significantly when I referred some folks to Nielsen’s.  This does not include the quarterly checks I receive from Nielsen in the mail.  Yes they will send you a check every 3 months for allowing them to track internet usage.

The checks come on auto pilot, and therefore I forget that I am even supposed to get paid by them.  Your first check will be for $5, and hopefully it will grow from there if you decide to continue pursuing Nielsen.  It takes 5 minutes to sign up for their program and it is free.

That said, many have a problem being tracked online. USA Today conducted a survey back in December 2010 and a majority of respondents indicated they didn’t want their internet usage behavior tracked, hence the legislation in congress.

Personally I have no problem with tracking.  In fact, programs like Google Adwords thrive on contextual advertising based on behavioral patterns in users.  The law has significant implications for contextual and behaviorally targeted programs.

It also affects publishers like myself who earn a significant amount of revenue sharing each month from the Google Adsense program.  Not to mention the negative impact on my website visitors, because now they will be seeing ads that may have nothing to do with their likes and interests.

But anyway, that’s a whole different topic for another day.  For now, Nielsen has worked out great for me.  What are your thoughts on this type of a program? Would you like to get paid to browse the web?
