Building profitable niche sites is one of my favorite ways to make money online. I have been fortunate enough to have done very well in this area over the last few years.
I have sold a few profitable niche sites and currently maintain a dozen in my humble portfolio. I plan on growing these at a rate of 5 a year. Is that possible? Very much so.
The process can be daunting initially for someone who has not been through it before, but like anything else, repeating the process several times over makes the task more familiar and easier to manage.
I am constantly asked by many to provide detailed guidance on how to build a profitable niche site from scratch, and I have finally made an attempt to do so. I have written an article of thousands of words that is currently live on Entrepreneur’s Journey.
Here is how the article is broken down:
These topics are discussed in a sequential manner, just as how you would execute them when embarking on your project. Do not miss a beat as each is predicated on the success of the previous.
As you will see, the process is quite extensive and I plan on discussing each component in even greater detail in the near future. As detailed as this article is, one can never get too granular to ensure that each step of the process is executed as well as it can be.

Hey, I’ve read your article from Yaro’s site, it was a complete guide fully detailed, but it was mainly the basics I believe (which I missed quiet a few procedures when I blog), it was long in fact very long, I reckon it is great for beginner bloggers!
You should have written a Ebook for this, seriously, it could have been a great free promotion to your blog!
Bookmarked your guide by the way 😉 That’s a must! I recommend it to everyone 😀

Thanks Harrison, that was the intention. My free report goes through the process in great detail. I will be talking about each component in more detail on this blog in the coming weeks.
Welcome, and I hope to see you back.
Just to let you know the last link in your post is wrong.

Neil – thank you for pointing this out. Welcome to the blog.
Just read your summary. Very detailed and helpful. Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing more.
Welcome Ron and thank you. Looking forward to writing more on the topic
Hi Sunil
Having just put together an amazon review site on top of my career position and another small business that I own I found your site refreshing – as it tackles to idea that one can do internet marketing while having a career (and other businesses).
Quite by accident my first “blog” made it to the top of page one in yahoo, google and bing – albeit with a poorly chosen keyword as I built the site with very limited knowledge of SEO etc. My new site is already on page two of google after one week with a better keyword/topic (via market samurai).
Keep up the good work with your blog as I will be visiting often (and I do read Yaros blog often). Do you have a podcast?
Thanks!
Dave
welcome Dave – a podcast series is on its way. I have several interviews lined up with interesting personalities who are making money outside their full time jobs (and some full time who started part time initially).
thanks for stopping by – looking forward to hearing more from you
Hi Sunil 🙂
I was wondering what do you think about quote sites as niche website?? Do yo think it would be hard for google to get a good understanding of what your website is about? any down falls choosing this as a niche??
~Ontahya
I think the challenge would be concentrating on the main theme of the site from an SEO perspective. Find ways to dig deeper and find a niche within niche. Example: quotes —> spirituality quotes —> Christian quotes
Good to see you here, welcome!
Thanks Sunil 🙂
Good article there, I also read your free ebook and I gotta say although most of it I knew, I still learnt a few things and will definitely recommend your site.
Welcome to the blog and I am glad there was something of value. All the best in your endeavors and hope to see you around more
I’m downloading the free e-book now and i hope to get the step by step guide as you said.
Thanks
Sheyi – please come back and tell us what you think. would be happy to answer your questions. all the best
Good article there, I also read your free ebook and I gotta say although most of it I knew, I still learnt a few things and will definitely recommend your site.
welcome to the blog. curious, how did you stumble upon it?
Do you have any link building software like Senuke X or Magic Submitter? Well, what should be the link building strategy for micro niche sites?
I don’t think depending just on content is beneficial..
Dhruv, I don not use either one of those. Which one do you suggest and why?
I agree that some link building is needed for any site to do well.
You must link those topics to there original positions. Thanks.
