No ChexSystems Bank Accounts

Many of us are guilty of going into an overdraft and missing payments – but if it’s a consistent issue, then you may get banned from your bank.

If you’ve had problems with your bank provider, then it can be hard finding a new bank account that will accept you as a customer as most banks use ChexSystems to check your banking history.

This negative mark on your record can remain on ChexSystems for around five years – but it’s just not an option for most of us to go without a bank account for that long.

Thankfully, there are banks that will accept you despite your negative banking history. If you were managed out of your previous bank, or just want to see what’s out there, then keep reading for more information on these banks dont use ChexSystems.

CHIME

Pros

  • Excellent online services
  • Over 38,000 free to use ATMs
  • No overdraft or monthly maintenance fees
  • Award-winning mobile app
  • Accept customers with poor credit history
  • Perfect second chance bank

Cons

  • No CHIME branches

Having a poor credit history can be debilitating when it comes to finding a bank account – but this won’t be an issue with a CHIME account.

Another common deal-breaker is hidden fees – but again, this won’t be a problem with CHIME. There are no maintenance fees, overdraft charges, or foreign transaction charges, which puts it one step above its competitors.

Their online services are great, and they boast an award-winning mobile app to help you manage your finances on the go. With over 38,000 ATMs free to use, you’ll never be stuck without access to your funds.

If you want to get started, just visit their website. It will only take around two minutes to sign up, and you’re likely to get accepted even with a less-than-perfect credit score.

BBVA

Pros

  • Available in all states (except Alaska and Hawaii)
  • Fee-free account
  • Access to over 64,000 ATMs across the country
  • Personalized VISA debit card
  • Excellent 24/7 customer support

Cons

  • Don’t use ChexSystems but do use Early Warning Services

If you want a checking account that won’t unnecessarily charge you every month, then a BVA checking account may be perfect for you – unless you live in Hawaii or Alaska unfortunately.

BVA doesn’t use ChexSystems to screen you during the application process, but they do use Early Warning Services (EWS) to make sure that you won’t be a terrible customer.

With convenient online access and a quality mobile app, it’s easier than ever to do your banking on the go. You’ll also have access to over 64,000 ATMs across the country, which is a lot more than many other providers.

One thing that customers love is the fact that you can personalize your debit card with a photo, which gives it that personal touch that other banks just don’t provide. Their customer service comes highly rated, with 24/7 access to banking help.

Acorns

Pros

  • Unlimited ATM fee reimbursements
  • Zero overdraft charges
  • No minimum balance requirements
  • Automated bill pay for your convenience
  • Great features to help you save

Cons

  • $3 monthly service fee

Opening an account with Acorns is quick and easy – and as long as you’re at least 18 years old, then you stand a good chance of getting accepted. Upon registration, you’ll be informed of the monthly maintenance charge, which is a manageable $3 per month.

Each transaction you make on your free Acorns Visa debit card will be rounded up to the nearest dollar – with the remainder being invested in one of your chosen ETF funds. This is a great feature if you need a helping hand saving – after all, who notices missing pennies?

There are thousands of ATMs you can use across the country for free, and if you come across an ATM that charges, then you can easily get this reimbursed. You’ll also be glad to hear that you won’t be charged for overdraft usage or for not meeting any minimum balance requirements.

United Bank

Pros

  • Chance to earn cashback rewards and discounts on movies, theme parks, and prescriptions
  • Monthly maintenance charge can be waived if you meet certain conditions
  • No use of ChexSystems at all
  • Convenient and easy-to-use mobile app

Cons

  • Only available in 6 states

If you’re one of the lucky people that reside in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC, then you can take advantage of United Bank’s quality checking accounts.

They don’t run ChexSystems at all, making it a great option if you have a negative history with your previous bank.

It’s quick and easy getting started with United Bank – there’s no minimum balance requirements or monthly service fees, but you do need to open an account with a $50 deposit.

The monthly maintenance fee is $10 a month, but it can be waived. To get it waived, you just need to complete 15 purchases a month or have at least $500 a month in regular deposits.
